Google DeepMind: Exploring Google's AI Division and Its Role in Artificial Intelligence

As well known to us lately, the major search engine giant Google is a lot more than a search engine. Till now, we have been presented with different mind-blowing technologies by Google such as Google Mail, Blogger, Google Sites, Maps, Google Drive and Google Plus (discontinued). But did you know what is Google DeepMind? Discover the dedicated division for Artificial Intelligence at Google. Explore their DeepMind and latest AI algorithms developments in this article. deepmind logo   Let’s start with a basic yet necessary list of three good queries we will be exploring:

Scientists just developed a mini brain, said Nature

Scientists have become successful in developing a mini human brain model in their laboratory. While the brain is not as functional as a living human brain, the mini brain is expected to be of great help in knowing and understanding the functionality, diseases and disorders in human brain. Let’s read what more is being expected from this mini human brain by the scientists and bio-technologists. A report in ‘ Nature ’ magazine has said that a mini brain has been successfully developed by the researchers. According to the report, Institute of Molecular Biotechnology , situated in Austin’s academy has developed a miniature brain which resembles to the brain of a few weeks old baby in shape and size. As we have no intentions to give lame expectations to our readers, we need to mention that the brain is only a miniature model of a living human brain and does not think or understand as a human brain does. While it is not for the first time when scientists have been able to deve...

20 minutes Yoga/Physical exercises provide better mental health – say Experts

In today’s super accelerated and busy life, it becomes hard to save time for relaxing, meditating or going for morning/evening walks in order to maintain our brain’s health . The good news is only a few minutes exercise can balance our mental health. A research done by the students of University of Illinois revealed that practicing Yoga for 20 minutes a day can keep our brains healthy. The research was headed by Neha Gothe and team of University of Illinois, Washington. The research was done on thirty people including teenagers, women and students pursuing graduation. The participants were said to perform Yoga exercises while their mental and physical stability was being observed throughout the process. After practicing Yoga for about 20 minutes, the researchers found a considerable improvement in their performance, speed and accuracy. The research also included an aerobic exercise for the participants that resulted in better self awareness in them. Edward McAuley, who ...

How brain reacts when we focus and concentrate: The mystery of Human brain revealed, says ‘Neuron’.

A team of scientists from Newcastle University has unfolded new secrets of human brain. The team revealed what goes in brain while handling information. A recently published report in ‘Neuron’ reveals the activity of brain chemicals that help us to deal with relevant information. The team funded by Wellcome Trust and BBSRC shared that we improve out intelligence and perceptual abilities by altering the way how neurons respond to external stimuli. [“ So can we cure mentally ill or retarded patients by working on this information?” – Topics: WhatSoEver ] The scientists said that these changes affect the strength and working of neurons as well as increases the accuracy of brain’s reaction or response over particular information. The team revealed that the glutamate coupling to NMDA receptors worked to affect the quality and accuracy of a response. The study was made on a primate model to differentiate different mechanisms of brain at the receptor level. Alex Thiele, ...

Female brain versus Male brain

The performance of brain in female is better than that of males; however, the size of brain in human females is much smaller than brain of a human male. A recent research done by universities of Los Angeles has brought up these results about human brains. Scientifically, the brain of females is 8 times smaller than that brain of males . Traver Robins, the professor of Neuroscience in Cambridge University supports the results of this research. The smaller size of brain in females is a sign of a better packaging of neurons in their brains, says Robins. The close and better packaging of neurons makes the brain work more efficiently than males. “A human brain has nearly 100 billion and more neurons which make the information flow throughout the brain using chemical and electrical signals.” This new revelation of human female’s brain is a call that females are nevertheless than males and are capable of doing much more than what males can do at mental level. So, all the human ...

Beware of Hackers: They can get into your brain in no time.

Introduction: Believe it or not, but scientists have claimed that it is not that difficult to get into a human brain. They said: a technology worth a few thousand dollars, can retrieve useful information out from the person’s brain, through hacking. This article deals with the brief descrition about this brain hacking technology issue. BCI: Off the Self Emotive brain. The group of scientists and researchers from  ‘University of Oxford’,  ‘Geneva and University of California, Burkley’ have shown the demo of this human brain hacking technology with the help of ‘Off the Self-Emotive Brain Computer Interface(B.C.I.)’.  This technology gets ready to use in some thousand dollars. In the experiment, the people were made set before a computer screen and said to wear a head piece on their ears. And it was really amazing and shocking to see that just by punching some buttons on keyboard, there were images of  the maps storing the places, bank account details,...
